Ask for Your Flex Discount
Anyone who has ordered a Fixed Series or created a personalized five-event Flex Series can continue to receive discounted Flex prices on future ticket purchases throughout the season. Simply inform the cashier when buying tickets that you are a series subscriber and eligible for the Flex price. Please be sure to do this at the time of purchase; the ticket office cannot refund money after the fact. If you have ordered non-series tickets, you still may order one of our traditional Fixed Series or a Flex Series and take advantage of the lower prices. (Note: At this time, fixed series, flex series and group discounts are not available through our online ticketing system. For more information, visit our virtual ticket office.)
Confused About Our Seat Numbering?
Krannert Center theatre seats are numbered alternately from the center of each theatre, with odd numbers on the left and even numbers on the right. Therefore, if your tickets are numbered H10, H12, and H14, your seats are side-by-side on the right side of the theatre as you face the stage. Studio Theatre seats are numbered consecutively (i.e., A1, A2, A3).
Sold-Out Events
If you were unable to obtain tickets to an event that sold out, please remember that ticket availability may change due to CenterCheck refunds as well as U of I student hold releases. (See information on "UI Hot Seats" below.) Check with the Ticket Office for the best opportunity to obtain released tickets.
UI Hot Seats
Hot Seats were created with University of Illinois students in mind. Krannert Center holds a group of seats for Marquee events specifically for U of I students, who often aren't able to purchase tickets until they arrive on campus in August. Hot Seats are available the minute Krannert Center season brochures have been mailed. Any unsold Hot Seats for fall semester Marquee events will be released for sale to the general public on October 1. Unsold Hot Seats for Krannert Center spring semester Marquee events will be released for sale to the general public on February 1. We encourage patrons, both students and nonstudents, to call the Ticket Office for more information regarding these tickets.
Credit Card Sales Receipts
Krannert Center's ticket system works on a receiptless basis; when you purchase tickets with your credit card, the tickets themselves are your receipt.
Can't Use Your Tickets? Here's a Guide to Refunds and Exchanges
If you have tickets that you can't use for any performance (except Champaign-Urbana Symphony concerts), Krannert Center offers CenterCheck refunds if we receive the tickets in hand by 6pm the day before the performance. CenterChecks are gift certificates that can be used anywhere in the Center -- for tickets, food, or merchandise. If you can't make the 6pm deadline, you still may receive a credit for a tax-deductible donation by calling or visiting the ticket office at least 30 minutes before the performance. (Tax credit requests cannot be honored during the half-hour before a performance.) Your generous release of tickets is a significant gift to Krannert Center, often making it possible for others to attend events that have been sold out.
We exchange tickets for events with multiple performances, provided the date on your tickets has not passed. Exchanges may be made by mail or at the ticket office until 30 minutes before performances.
Parking
Before 5pm weekdays, three free marked parking spaces are available for Krannert Center patrons in the lower south lot (green) on Oregon Street. Accessible parking is available in all lots, and metered parking is available in both upper and lower north lots (orange and yellow) on Illinois Street. After 5pm, all spaces are available free of charge.
Hearing Assistance
The Sennheiser infrared system is a lightweight, wireless listening system that amplifies sound for those patrons wearing headsets. All four theatres are equipped with this system and headsets are available free of charge from the Patron Services Desk at the north end of the ticket counter.
Easy Access Seating
If you have requested easily accessible seating for the upcoming season, the Patron Services staff will be happy to assist you at the performance. If you have purchased wheelchair seating or would like usher assistance, you may call from the elevator lobbies to reach the Patron Services staff when you arrive. Intercom boxes are located next to each elevator; simply press the button, and it will ring to the Patron Services Desk. You will be asked which performance you are attending and the parking level from which you are calling. A Krannert Center Host will meet you and escort you to your seats.
If you have requested easy access seating through the main lobby, please go to the Patron Services Desk for assistance. A host will escort you into the theatre. The staff also will be available after the performance if you would like assistance leaving the theatre.
If you have any other accessibility questions, please feel free to call Krannert Center's Patron Services Director at 217/333-9716; the TTY number for patrons who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or speech-impaired is 217/333-9714.
