Fronted by Grammy Award-winning and 2007 guitar festival alum Kevin Breit, the musicians of The Sisters Euclid aren’t sisters—or brothers for that matter—but this Canadian-based quartet is connected to the bone. Breit is a guitarist’s guitarist who has recorded with scores of artists such as Norah Jones, k.d. lang, Cyro Baptista, and 2007 guitar festival alum Harry Manx. Breit’s guitar chops mesh with the talents of Rob Gusevs (organ), Ian de Souza (bass), and Gary Taylor (drums) for inventive, unexpected, gorgeously rough, and impeccably sleek sounds. With a reputation for delivering earthy, dreamy, challenging jazz-rock through its weekly appearances at Toronto’s Orbit Room since 1996, the group offers “the widest possible range of sounds that can be culled from six strings” and will leave you “transfixed” (JazzReview.com).
