Krannert Center employs over 70 full-time staff members, and over 100 faculty members work in the resident departments of Theatre, Dance, and the School of Music Opera Program. More than 100 part-time employees, 170 community volunteers, and over 400 student volunteers contribute to the successful operation of the Center.
The Center is a laboratory for about 1,000 students in theatre, dance, and music pursuing bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degrees in various disciplines. At any one time, two or three productions might be in performance, 10 to 20 in rehearsal, and six to eight under construction. In addition to this intense resident production schedule, Krannert Center also hosts touring productions throughout the academic year.
Some areas of Krannert Center staff expertise include events and production coordination; audio; costuming; wig and makeup; lighting; scenery and properties; operation and maintenance of the physical plant; information services; business management; and marketing and patron services, including retail functions such as food services, gift shop, and ticket sales.
