Not merely a center for public performances, the Krannert Center is a place of education. Behind the scenes, a typical day finds hundreds of students, faculty, and staff members at work. The Center houses the University's Department of Theatre as well as parts of the Department of Dance and the School of Music Opera Program. Its facilities include rehearsal rooms for opera, choral music, orchestra, dance, and theatre; scenery, costume, audio, prop, and lighting shops; design studios; departmental offices; and classrooms.
